Pankrition Stadium
The Pankrition Stadium, a versatile athletic center capable of hosting international and national competitions, is located west of the city of Heraklion, nearby to major motorways. It is one of the most modern stadiums in Greece with a capacity of 26.240 spectators.
Being an Olympic facility for the Athens 2004 Games, it hosted qualifying football matches for men and women. It is currently being used as a training center for the team Ergotelis FC and also serves as the home ground for the SUPERLEAGUE Championship and Cup games in Greece. It has hosted international matches of the national football team, the track and field event Tsiklitiria 2004, the international athletics games of the Mediterranean Islands. It has also hosted dozens of panhellinic and local athletic events.

Hellenic Federation announced the team that will compete at European Athletics Championships team, in Heraklion, Crete Saturday 20 June and Sunday 21 June.

The history of European Athletics Championships team
The history of the European Athletics Team Championships is a young one. Heraklio public will witness the sixth edition of this fairly new competition only since the inaugural 2009 event in Leiria/Portugal, where the German team dominated.

The 2014 edition of the European Athletics Team Championships 1L was held in Tallinn – Estonia with the Greek Team placed 5th with a total of 276,5 points, missing the opportunity to be promoted to the Super League.
